EXPO PACK México Launches Extensive Pre-Show Webinar Program.

Series includes exclusive content supporting the Latin America Chapter of The Packaging & Processing Women's Leadership Network (PPWLN).

CDMX, Mexico: February. 27, 2024 – EXPO PACK México 2024 announces upcoming webinar series, a leading-edge digital complement to the largest packaging and processing exhibition in Latin America, set to take place June 4–7 at Expo Santa Fe, México City. In a concerted effort to spotlight critical industry trends, Mundo EXPO PACK, presents this engaging Spanish language series including dedicated webinars supporting the Packaging & Processing Women’s Leadership Network (PPWLN) and addressing key industry challenges leading up to EXPO PACK México 2024.

The Packaging & Processing Women's Leadership Network (PPWLN) serves to recruit, retain and advance women's careers in packaging and processing. The first PPWLN webinar kicks off on Feb. 28 with an empowering session dedicated to "Negotiation Techniques and Tips for Salary Advancement for Women in the Packaging Industry," featuring Eduardo Taylor, renowned consultant and founding partner of Kingsley Gate Partners. This webinar will tackle the pressing issues of gender stigmas, biases, and the importance of pay equity, alongside practical advice on negotiation strategies for fair compensation.

“EXPO PACK México is excited to build on the success of the in-person PPWLN events and continue the important conversations to empower and support women in the packaging and processing industries,” states Celia Navarrate, EXPO PACK Director. “In addition to dedicated PPWLN content, Mundo EXPO PACK’s webinars provide the opportunity to discover the latest innovations shaping the future of packaging and processing, providing insights into emerging trends and disruptive technologies.”

With the industry struggling to cope with a shortage of labor, automation is a necessary solution that can help consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies combat this challenge, particularly when it comes to end-of-line processes, according to the Future of Automation in Packaging and Processing report, produced by PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, and producer of EXPO PACK México. On March 12, join industry stalwarts Gerardo Pérez of SABORMEX and Nelson Valverde of Kimberly-Clark as they examine this trend and dissect "End-of-Line Robotics and Its Impact on Packaging Operations in Latin America." This session promises to provide invaluable insights into integrating robotics in packaging, highlighting cost-benefit analysis and innovative applications in processes such as palletizing.

PMMI’s Future of Automation in Packaging and Processing report also mentions E-commerce as a key driver for the automation trend, impacting the processes of nearly half of CPG firms.  The April 9 webinar explores "The Future of Packaging in E-commerce," with a distinguished panel including Cristina Arbeláez of Essity, Adriana Díaz Vera of Buencafé, and Guillermo Dufranc of Tridimage. The webinar will explore using AI, automation, and smart packaging to enhance the e-commerce experience, aligning with consumer preferences and sustainability.

One of the most important factors in making career decisions is the chance to improve and grow expertise, according to PMMI’s Building an Effective Talent Strategy white paper. To address this growing trend, the May 8 webinar, the second in the PPWLN webinar series, will focus on "Professional Development and Training Opportunities for Women in the Latin American Packaging Industry," with insights from Lola Moreno Pérez Palma of AMEE (Asociación Mexicana de Envase y Embalaje). Attendees will discover avenues for educational growth, network building, and leadership opportunities in the sector.
