Meet the Speakers!

Edgar Bonfil Arias

Director of R&D of Packaging
Kellogg's Latin America

He is the current director of packaging research and development at Kellogg's Latin America and oversees defining and implementing the growth strategy of the main pillars of the area, such as: innovation, productivity, sustainability, profit management, and guaranteeing impeccable execution of the different initiatives in the cereal, cereal bars, and snacks categories.

For almost 19 years, Bonfil was the director of packaging research and development for Latin America North (México Foods, Central America, and the Caribbean) at PepsiCo. In addition, he was packaging and industrial engineering research and development manager at Jugos del Valle for more than 5 years. Bonfil has an MBA from IPADE Business School and is a graduate in marketing from the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey. His specialties include development research in packaging materials and product innovation.

                                  Alfonso Posada

Director of Sales and Marketing
Econocorp Inc

Alfonso Posada joined Econocorp Inc, a leading USA manufacturer of secondary packaging machinery in 2017. As the company’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Alfonso primarily focuses on sales growth through the development of multiple direct and indirect channels in the USA as well as in over seventy-five countries.

Prior to joining Econocorp, Alfonso held various leadership positions as Director of International Sales & Marketing, Sr. Business Development Director and Director of Finance & Administration for Marubeni Americas Corporation, Canon Americas, and Sharp Electronics Corporation.

Alfonso Posada, born in Bogota, Colombia, holds an MBA from UMass, Boston and BBA in International Finance and Marketing from the University of Miam, Coral Gables, FL. He was appointed in 2024 to a four-year term on PMMI’s Global Marketing Committee

He is fluent in Spanish and is adept in business Portuguese. He is an avid sports enthusiast who enjoys running, soccer, skiing, and adventure traveling. Alfonso currently resides in Sarasota, FL and is a father of two very lively girls.

Rick Nuñez

Sales Engineer – North & South America
PDC International Corp.

Rick’s passion for engineering started early, leading him to pursue a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from New England Institute of Technology. In 2008, Rick began working at PDC International Corp., where his journey of translating technical expertise into customer solutions began.

For seven years, he honed his skills as a Design Engineer, crafting machines that brought product packaging visions to life. He eventually transitioned into the role of Applications Engineer (Inside Sales), becoming a trusted partner to the PDC sales team. For four years, Rick supported the sales team with quotations, layouts, and technical expertise, ensuring every customer received what they needed.

Rick’s dedication and understanding of both the machines and the customer's needs earned him a promotion to Sales Engineer. He now covers several states domestically and manages the ever-evolving Latin American market, working directly with customers to assist them in finding solutions to their challenges.

Beyond his role at PDC, Rick is actively involved in shaping the future of the packaging industry. For the past four years, Rick has served on PMMI's Emerging Leaders Committee, collaborating with passionate individuals to ensure innovation and sustainability remain at the core of packaging.
